Holiday Time Off
We believe it is important to lead a balanced life. You are encouraged to schedule time off work to relax, recharge and maintain good health. Every employee is entitled to take 24 days of paid leave each year, plus the 8 bank holidays. The holiday year starts on the 1st of April.
Rolling over a reasonable amount of leave into the following year is OK.
Taking time off can affect cash flow, project schedules, and client expectations, so we appreciate being as far ahead as possible for time off of any length. Time off lasting over 2 weeks must be pre-approved by your manager at least 30 days in advance.
Sick Time Off
Short periods of sick leave are usually paid, just make sure to discuss with your team and director.
thoughtbot provides 6 weeks paid parental leave for all new parents. In London, this is accomplished by topping off statutory pay for 6 weeks to equal 100% pay. Beyond that, you are welcome to use vacation time, statutory pay and unpaid leave to take a total of 6 to 12 months parental leave.
Please contact benefits to work out your leave details at least 30 days before the intended start to your leave.
