Annual Leave/Vacation Time*
Team members accrue 25 days of vacation per year. Annual leave accrued during an accrual year (1 June - 31 May) can be used immediately until the end of the following accrual year.
thoughtbot ensures 10 days of fully paid sick time per year.
Team members who have been at thoughtbot for at least 1 year
Up to 3 months of fully and partially paid sick time is available from CPAM and thoughtbot. The amount and duration of sick time pay depends on the length of employment. For example, a team member who has worked at thoughtbot for 1-5 years is eligible for 1 month of 100% pay and 2 months of 80% pay, contributed by CPAM and thoughtbot.
Team members who have been at thoughtbot for less than 1 year
Sick leaves lasting up to 2 consecutive days are paid fully by thoughtbot, for a total of up to 10 days per year. For sick leaves lasting over 2 consecutive days, payments from CPAM may be available. For extended sick leaves beyond 2 consecutive days, thoughtbot will top off the first 10 days to 100% pay.
All thoughtbot team members are eligible for both paid and unpaid parental leave after the birth or adoption of a child. The paid and unpaid leave can be combined for up to 6 months of total time off. In some locations, team members are eligible for more time off. thoughtbot ensures 6 weeks 100% paid parental leave for all non-birthing parents and 12 weeks 100% paid parental leave for all birthing parents. In locations with their own system for paid leave, thoughtbot’s policy runs concurrently with the local system.
Additionally, in France birthing parents who have been employed at thoughtbot for over a year are entitled to up 6 weeks leave before birth.
Team members may take up to 5 paid days off anytime someone close passes away. This includes pregnancy loss. We understand the deep impact that death can have on an individual or a family. If you need more than 5 days off, you can also use your accrued paid time off or unpaid time off.
Medical insurance is available through Alan.
Team members in France are entitled to a 10% vacation premium paid in June.
